The Master program Consumer Affairs (MCA) is provided by the TUM School of Management and is currently unique in Germany. MCA is a two-year, world-class integrated study program focused on consumers in their economic, social and ecological environments.

The program is part of the European Master program Consumer Affairs (EURECA) offered by TUM, Aarhus University (DK), Wageningen University (NL) and the Warsaw University of LifeSciences (PL).

At TUM School of Management the specialisations “Consumer, Technology and Innovation” and “Sustainable Consumption” take centre stage in the Master program. Within this program you can also choose one out of six specialisations at a partner university. You might be supported by mobility grants during your semester abroad.

Interest in consumers in an international context


This study program is right for you, if you have an interest in consumers in their economic, social and ecological environment and you would like to spend part of your studies abroad at a partner university. To apply, you should have at least a bachelor’s degree either in socio-economics (e.g. business administration, economics, sociology) or in science/engineering with a Consumer Affairs orientation.

After graduation -

Excellent opportunities at the international job market


You will gain factual knowledge about the Basics of Consumer Affairs in general and in connection with business and government, especially with regard to European consumer issues. Skills in applied consumer research and communication are significant parts of the program. Since the focus is on EU consumer issues and the language of instruction is English, MCA prepares you for the modern international job market: With MCA and EURECA you have best chances in companies and institutions with a European and international orientation, especially after participating in an exchange program or graduating with a double degree.
