Aptitude Test
In order to select the most motivated, excellent and committed applicants from the great number of applications for the study program, the Technische Universitaet Muenchen has a two-stage eligibility procedure for the allocation of study places.
Aptitude test for the Master program TUM-BWL for applicants in the WS 2011/2012
Please note that under the terms of the aptitude test, interviews are conducted as a rule in July, for applicants who were not admitted or rejected in the first stage on the basis of written application documents. Please also note that the date of interview cannot be postponed and that in the event of non-attendance at interview, admission is no longer possible.
Applicants who cannot provide evidence of eligibility for the TUM-BWL Master program may repeat the aptitude test once.
Acceptance to the TUM-BWL Master program is applicable for all subsequent applications in this study program.
Assessment of the written application documents (1st stage)
The Eligibility Commission makes its assessment on the basis of submitted written application, as to whether an applicant is eligible for the study program. The written documents are first examined and assessed by two Commission Members respectively. The Commission examines the basic qualification of the submitted application documents as to whether the applicant is eligible for the study program on the grounds of proven qualifications together with the pertaining talents and skills.
On the basis of the written applications and their assessment, the applicants are assigned to one of the three following groups:
- Eligible applicants – these shall receive confirmation that they have passed the aptitude test and the necessary documents for matriculation in the Master program of the TUM.
- Unsuitable applicants will be sent a rejection.
- Applicants whose eligibility, after reviewing the application documents, is still in doubt shall be called to an interview for verbal assessment of eligibility.
The eligibility interview (2nd stage) (end of July/beginning of August)
The eligibility interview is only for applicants who were not already admitted or rejected in the first stage. The interview lasts 20-30 minutes and is carried out by at least two members of the Commission. Specialist knowledge that is to be instructed in the TUM-BWL Master program is not required in advance and is not decisive.
On the basis of the assessment at the selection interview and based on specialist knowledge and success of the primary study program applicants are assigned to one of the following groups:
- Suitable Applicants who then receive confirmation that they have passed the aptitude test and have submitted documentation necessary for immatriculation to the Master program at the TUM.
- Unsuitable Applicants will be sent a rejection letter.
