Since its foundation in 2002, the faculty has been engaged in a broad range of research projects that bridge the gap between disciplines. Our research focuses on future trends and real-world solutions that advance innovation-based businesses and benefit society at large.

International Networks

In 2016 TUM School of Management entered the Quantitative Techniques for Economics and Management network (QTEM), which is an international network bringing together excellent students, Academic Partners and International Corporations.

The QTEM Master’s program is open to outstanding students enrolled at one of the QTEM Academic Partner Institutions.

In 2016 TUM School of Management joined the Global Business School Network (GBSN). The GBSN is a network of renowned business schools, industry, foundations and aid agencies, which aims to improve access to quality, locally relevant management education for the developing world. The network fosters cross-border networking, knowledge sharing and collaboration both within the network membership and with the broader business education and development communities.

Committed to excellence and innovation we are honored to be part of the 1% elite group worldwide that holds the Triple Crown Accreditation.

AACSB International – The Association to Advance Collegiate School of Business (AACSB) is the world’s largest business education alliance. AACSB Accreditation is known,worldwide, as the longest standing, most recognized form of specialized/ professional accreditation an institution and its business programs can earn.
TUM School of Management was awarded with the EQUIS accreditation by the EFMD in 2017. EQUIS is the leading international system of quality assessment, improvement, and accreditation of higher education institutions in management and business administration.
In 2015, the Association of MBAs (AMBA) certified that evidence-based management knowledge meets industry expertise within our three Executive MBA programs.

Emerging from a long academic tradition

    With a festive ceremony, the Technical University of Munich (TUM) and the Dieter Schwarz Foundation have officially opened the new TUM Campus Heilbronn building.
  • 2018
    Start of the Winter Semester 18/19 for the Master in Management and Master in Management & Innovation programs at TUM Campus Heilbronn.
  • 2018
    The Technical University of Munich (TUM) and the Dieter Schwarz Stiftung have signed a comprehensive contractual structure providing for one of the most important endowments in the history of German universities.
  • 2017
    TUM School of Management is accredited by the AACSB International – the world’s largest business education alliance.
  • 2017
    in June 2017, TUM School of Management was awarded with the EQUIS accreditation by the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD).
  • 2017
    Master in Management & Innovation together with HEC Paris is established. The first Young Professional Program at TUM School of Management

    new Master in Management & Technology program is now also available in English, replacing the two previous tracks TUM-BWL and TUM-WITEC
  • 2017
    TUM School of Management becomes new member oft he internationally renowned QTEM network
  • 2016
    Master in Management is established and replaces the two previous tracks for the Master in Management (TUM-WIN and TUM-NAWI).

    A new and completely English-based track for the Bachelor in Management & Technology is established.

    Executive MBA in Business & IT is established.
  • 2015
    TUM School of Management proudly receives the AMBA Accreditation for its Executive MBA programs.

    Bachelor in Management & Technology is the first program of a German university to be accredited by EPAS.
  • 2011/2012
    Master’s program in Management and Technology (Track 2) and Master’s program in Management (Track 2) established.
  • 2009/2010
    Master’s program in Management (Track 1) and European Master’s program in Consumer Affairs established.
  • 2008/2009
    TUM School of Management restructures its programs in line with the Bologna Process.
  • 2008
    TUM School of Management offers its first Executive MBA in Innovation & Business Creation in collaboration with UnternehmerTUM and the Leipzig Graduate School of Management.
  • 2005
    Executive MBA in Communication & Leadership established.
  • 2004
    Master of Consumer Science established.
  • 2002
    TUM School of Management founded by splitting up the Faculty for Economic and Social Sciences and integrating the Department of Business and Social Sciences of the Weihenstephan Science Center.
  • 2001
    Bachelor’s program in Management & Technology established.
  • 1998
    Postgraduate studies in Management-oriented Business Administration established.
  • 1974
    Faculty for Business Administration and Social Sciences is established.
  • 1946
    Following wartime destruction and staff dismissals on political grounds, the Department of Economics intermittently relocates to Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München.
  • 1922
    Merger with the Commercial College of Munich makes the Technical University of Munich the biggest in Germany. Academic portfolio now includes degrees in economics and business alongside mechanical engineering and electrical engineering.
  • 1868
    The Technical University of Munich is established as the Polytechnical School of Munich.
