At TUM School of Management, we carry out teaching and research at the intersection of management, engineering, natural and life sciences. Located in the heart of Munich, a thriving city in one of Germany’s most prosperous regions, we enjoy an academic, cultural and economic infrastructure that attracts talents from all over the world. Sine 2018, TUM has been the only German university with a teaching and research campus in Heilbronn, Baden-Württemberg. Its focus is on the management of digital change, family enterprises and computer science in a dynamic, international environment with numerous medium-sized family run companies, the so called “hidden champions”.

Since its foundation in 2002, the faculty has been engaged in a broad range of research projects that bridge the gap between disciplines. Our research focuses on future trends and real-world solutions that advance innovation-based businesses and benefit society at large.

Our highly motivated, international student body as well as the cooperation with renowned universities and management schools worldwide guarantee a global perspective, while industry know-how is brought into our programs through strong collaboration with our corporate partners.  Together, we create a dynamic, inspirational and international community.

International Networks

In 2016 TUM School of Management entered the Quantitative Techniques for Economics and Management network (QTEM), which is an international network bringing together excellent students, Academic Partners and International Corporations.

The QTEM Master’s program is open to outstanding students enrolled at one of the QTEM Academic Partner Institutions.

In 2016 TUM School of Management joined the Global Business School Network (GBSN). The GBSN is a network of renowned business schools, industry, foundations and aid agencies, which aims to improve access to quality, locally relevant management education for the developing world. The network fosters cross-border networking, knowledge sharing and collaboration both within the network membership and with the broader business education and development communities.
Accreditations

Committed to excellence and innovation we are honored to be part of the 1% elite group worldwide that holds the Triple Crown Accreditation.

AACSB International – The Association to Advance Collegiate School of Business (AACSB) is the world’s largest business education alliance. AACSB Accreditation is known,worldwide, as the longest standing, most recognized form of specialized/ professional accreditation an institution and its business programs can earn.
TUM School of Management was awarded with the EQUIS accreditation by the EFMD in 2017. EQUIS is the leading international system of quality assessment, improvement, and accreditation of higher education institutions in management and business administration.
In 2015, the Association of MBAs (AMBA) certified that evidence-based management knowledge meets industry expertise within our three Executive MBA programs.

TUM School of Management – Recognized for outstanding teaching and research

The Technical University of Munich (TUM) has achieved its seventh consecutive number one position among German universities in the latest edition of the highly respected QS World University Rankings. It is number three in the European Union and is ranked among the top 50 universities in the world.

In the THE Impact Rankings, the Technical University of Munich (TUM) secured the top spot in the world in the category industry, innovation and infrastructure. This ranking covers research output as well as patents, start-ups and working relationships with companies.

At the Technical University of Munich (TUM), start-up initiatives receive optimal support. Thus concludes the latest “Gründungsradar” survey. For the fourth straight year, TUM is ranked number one among large Germany universities. Every year around 80 companies get their start here.

TUM School of Management is the best Business School at a Technical University in Germany at the annual QS Management Masters Rankings. In the category employability the TUM School of Management ranks best of all German Business Schools and 13th worldwide.

TUM School of Management was ranked among the top 3 German and top 6 EU Business Schools in the 2022 Times Higher Education World University Rankings by Subject and secures an overall 55 place worldwide. More than 795 universities were ranked on the subject of Business & Economics.

TUM School of Management’s study program Master in Management & Technology was ranked 2nd in Germany and 23rd worldwide at the annual QS Management Masters Rankings. Thereby, TUM School of Management is among the two highest ranked German business schools in this category.

TUM School of Management’s study program Master in Management & Technology was ranked 6th in Germany and 49th worldwide out of 100 business schools at the Financial Times Masters in Management Ranking.

 

TUM School of Management has once again achieved the highest positions in the latest Global Ranking of Academic Subjects (GRAS) 2021 at Shanghai Ranking and was able to rank No. 1 for management research in Germany. Worldwide, TUM School of Management ranks among the Top 150 Management Schools.

TUM School of Management is the top university among German-speaking universities and the second from top overall for business research at the “WirtschaftsWoche Ranking”. In addition to that Prof. Helmut Krcmar was awarded as best business researcher.
