Business Simulation Game – General Management
The business simulation game is a web-based management simulation in which teams are given the change to lead their own mechanical engineering company and to compete against other teams on a virtual market. The business simulation brings together the different disciplines in business administration. In each round, teams have to make decisions on the short- and long run strategy, set their production quotas and prices, develop new products, manage marketing activities, hire or fire employees, and raise or repay loans.
The simulation game is directed towards all Bachelor students in Management & Technology, independent of the chosen area of concentration. Nonetheless, it is strongly advised to complete all TUM-BWL compulsory courses before taking part in the business simulation. Moreover, students obtain 3 ECTS for the simulation game, after passing the module. The final grade is composed of the performance within the business simulation game and additional (short) MC-Quizzes.
There are no classroom-based sessions foreseen for the simulation game, except for the nonbinding kick-off meeting, on 2 May 2017, at 3.00 – 5.00 p.m. in room 1090. Through the latter, students will be able to gather further information on the game. Applications will start right after the kick-off meeting and the game has no no participant limit.
