First Ever Women Event on Female Leadership
Always meet people in the eye-level, do not apologize unnecessarily, and think twice, with whom you would share your life with. – Our first ever Women Information Event on 27 January provided inspiration, research based facts on Women and Leadership, and personal leadership stories from our driven and highly international Executive MBA alumna and current Executive MBA candidates.
Our event for female leaders provided participants with a valuable combination of academic content and practical insights. To start with, Prof. Dr. Claudia Peus, Senior Vice President Talent Management and Diversity and Vice Dean of the Executive Education Center, gave a short taster lecture on female leadership and gender equality at work in today’s challenging business environment. Prof. Dr. Peus’ personal experience of her impressive career path complemented her academic insights. Additionally, Tiffany Valeriano, one of our Executive MBA students gave some very practical tips for self-presentation, and Anne Tolonen, Program Manager originally from Finland, presented some inspiration from the Nordics, especially Finland, which has had strong female representation in politics for decades and has set some exemplary conditions for women in leading positions.
In a subsequent panel session, some of our students and alumni shared their very own stories about their personal journeys as well as the challenges they had to overcome to succeed. The session sparked an inspiring discussion and lively exchange among everyone present.
Overall, the event was a great success, underlining the need for this kind of format for female executives. More, similar events are already in the planning. If you are interested in joining our next Women Event, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and let us know that you would like to be notified as soon as the next event is fixed.
