Graduation ceremony “Tag der Fakultät” on June 15, 2018
The graduation ceremony „Tag der Fakultät” at TUM School of Management was a resounding success. On Friday, June 15, 2018, over 300 master’s and bachelor’s graduates and our doctoral candidates were bid farewell to in the festive ceremony.
The ceremony was opened by TUM School of Management’s dean, Prof. Dr. Gunther Friedl. A very special highlight was the interesting welcome speech given by Prof. Dr. Claudia Peus, Senior Vice President of the Technical University of Munich (TUM) on behalf of TUM’s president Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Wolfgang Herrmann. In her speech, Prof. Peus emphasized the achievements of the Technical University of Munich since its foundation 150 years ago and provided insights into current developments of the university. We are particularly pleased that we could win Dr. Doris Höpke, Member of the Board of Management Munich Re, as keynote speaker of the event. Dr. Höpke addressed the topic “Digital Transformation in the insurance sector – How Munich Re is using this change for further development” in her speech. In the ensuing panel discussion, Prof. Peus and Dr. Höpke examined the changes in the working environment.
Furthermore, it was very interesting for our graduates to know how the doctoral program at TUM School of Management is organized, which was discussed by Prof. Dr. Alwine Mohnen, Prof. Dr. Michael Kurschilgen and Christoph Gschnaidtner, spokesperson of the Graduate Council of the TUM Graduate School.
Besides the official farewell, various awards were granted at the ceremony: the Peter Pribilla Award, the Social Impact Award (TUM Management Alumni e.V.), the GOR Bachelor Award and the Oliver Wyman Award.
The Peter Pribilla Award was given out by Prof. Dr. Prof. h.c. Dr. h.c. Ralf Reichwald to Maria Franziska Marianne Keller for her master’s thesis on “The Trigger of Knowledge Hiding: The Effects of Exploitative Leadership on the Individual Follower Towards the Supervisor”.
The Social Impact Award was awarded by Prof. Gunther Friedl to Anna Hart, Simon Lescheck and Philipp Bachhuber from Edubotics.
The GOR Bachelor Award was conferred by Prof. Rainer Kolisch to Timothy Hönig.
Moreover, the Oliver Wyman Award was given out by Florian Deter, partner at Oliver Wyman, to Theresa Mirlach.
Directly after the presentation of the awards, TUM School of Management’s professors and faculty members bid farewell to both bachelor’s and master’s graduates, who continued celebrating at “Das Schloss”.
We sincerely congratulate all our graduates, doctors and award winners and would like to thank all those involved for their participation and active involvement in the event.
