Kumovis wins Munich Business Plan Competition
Supported by the Bavarian State Ministry of Economic Affairs and Media, Energy and Technology, the BayStartUP initiative conducts the Businessplan competitions to assist young entrepreneurs. The various phases of the competition correspond to the stages of founding progress: For example, in phase 1 the business idea and benefit for the customer are evaluated, at later phases, criteria such as financing and marketing are added. Each of the winning teams in phase 1 receives a cash prize of 500 euros. A total of 144 pitch decks and business plans were submitted in the current round of competition. Winner of the Munich Business Plan Competition 2018 is Kumovis, a start-up that develops and sells innovative 3D printers based on FFF technology for the manufacture of medicinal products.
Seven out of ten of Munich’s best business concepts are innovated by teams of the Technical University of Munich (TUM). In the first round of Munich Business Plan Competition 2018 the start-ups ApicBeam, Cliniserve, Cryodynamics, Kewazo, Kumovis, Pave Group and Soilspy were awarded. Their business concepts are from the areas of medical technology, cryogenics, construction industry, construction robotics, laser technology and agriculture. Some of the participating team members have studied at TUM School of Managment, like Alexander Henhammer, one of the founders of Kumovis.
