Multiple awards for researchers of the Chair of Operations Research
Researchers of the Chair of Operations Research (OR) at TUM School of Management were awarded with various honors for their outstanding accomplishments in the field of OR. The chair members’ research interests include all aspects of OR, especially the development of new theory and algorithms as well as applications of societal relevance.
Dr. Jannik Matuschke, Junior Research Group Leader at the Chair for Operations Research, and his co-authors received the 2017 INFORMS/TSL Outstanding Paper in Freight Transportation and Logistics Award for their paper “An Integrated Approach to Tactical Transportation Planning in Logistics Networks” at the INFORMS Annual Meeting in Houston.
Benedikt Plank, a new PhD student at the Chair for Operations Research, has been awarded with a Bavarian Elite Support Act Scholarship of the Universität Bayern e.V.
Felix Happach, PhD student at the Chair for Operations Research, is the recipient of the 2017 Master’s Thesis Award of the German Operations Research Society. The prize ceremony took place at the International Conference on Operations Research in Berlin.
The recently established Chair of Operations Research is led by Alexander von Humboldt-Professor Dr. Andreas S. Schulz, who is holding a joint appointment in the Department of Mathematics and in the TUM School of Management. It is affiliated with the research unit Applied Geometry and Discrete Mathematics as well as the department of Operations & Supply Chain Management.
