Sustainable entrepreneurship, with its combination of economic, social and ecological goals, is a powerful tool for tackling grand societal challenges. The International Summer School 2020 goes Online and provides you with the theoretical and practical input you need to become a change-maker. Our objectives: Inform – Inspire – Interact!

Inform
Benefit from cutting-edge research at a triple crown accredited business school and the rich experience of sustainable entrepreneurs. Get to grips with the theory and practice of founding a new sustainable business.

Inspire
Work with dedicated academics and sustainable entrepreneurs from different industries, including fashion, food and energy. Participate in interactive online workshops and learn to see societal challenges as entrepreneurial opportunities.

Interact
Collaborate with people from all over the world and generate creative entrepreneurial ideas for tackling the grand societal challenges of the 21st century. Work online in small teams to develop your own business concept and become a change maker.

  • 2 weeks online classes (from July 20 to 31)

Credits:6 ECTS (Equivalent to 3 Credits in the Anglo-Saxon context)
Examination:Oral group presentation and short written paper on a sustainable business model

Online activities will take place from Monday to Friday from 2:00-5:30 p.m. CET (Central Europe Time).

In your motivation letter please outline your prior experience in the fields of sustainability and entrepreneurship (by sending this email, you agree that we might store your personal data in order to provide you with relevant information).

To secure their place in the program, all accepted students are requested to pay the program fee by 7 days after receipt of their confirmation letter.

Prof. Dr. Frank Martin Belz

Chair of Corporate Sustainabilly

Dr. Frank-Martin Belz received his PhD in Business Administration from the University of St. Gallen (Switzerland). Since 2003 he has been full professor and holder of the Chair for Corporate Sustainability at TUM School of Management. He focusses his research on sustainable entrepreneurship in industrialized and developing countries.

Dr. Rebecca Preller

Entrepreneurship Research Institute
TUM School of Management

Dr. Rebecca Preller is researcher at the TUM Entrepreneurship Research Institute. Her research focuses on how entrepreneurial teams develop ideas into businesses over time. She teaches courses on business idea development at the Bachelor, Master, and PhD level as well as for corporate clients. Before starting her PhD program she worked as a strategy consultant serving clients with an innovation focus.

Dr. Dominik Domnik

Social Entrepreneurship Academy
SEA

Dr. Dominik Domnik holds a PhD in Economics from the University of St. Gallen. He is a serial social entrepreneur and Chief Financial Officer of the Social Entrepreneurship Akademie, a cooperation of the leading Munich universities. The Social Entrepreneurship Academy provides education for societal change.

Dr. Sebastian Planck

Social Entrepreneurship Academy
SEA

Dr. Sebastian Planck has worked as a campaigner and storyteller for a sustainable consultancy. He founded a social project  and he is head of qualification at the Social Entrepreneurship Academy, responsible for all learning formats. The Social Entrepreneurship Academy is a cooperation of the leading Munich Universities and provides education for societal change.

Dr. Aline Menden

Co-Founder
Endeva

Dr. Aline Menden received her PhD from the TUM School of Management. She is co-founder and managing director of Endeva, a global network of thought leaders and brokers, who accelerate inclusive business innovations. Over the past ten years, Dr. Menden has led and implemented a variety of research and consulting projects for a broad range of organizations, including large companies, NGOs, international organizations, and foundations.

Torsten Schreiber

Africa GreenTech

Torsten Schreiber is a self-made man and serial entrepreneur. Since 2000, he founded several internet-based new ventures and was engaged in a political party driving the digital agenda. For example, he (co-)founded the sustainable investment platform ’bettervest’, the start-up incubator ’Gründertaxi’ and ‚’RockmyStartup’, a consultancy for social businesses. Now, he is the co-founder and Managing Director of ’Africa GreenTech’.

Jona Christians

Co-Founder und Chief Executive Officer
Sono Motors

Jona Christians is co-founder and managing director of the mobility provider Sono Motors. Sono Motors GmbH was founded in 2016 as a result of a project started with his friend Laurin Hahn after graduating from high school. The project took root in their common vision of a sustainable mobility concept that is independent from fossil fuels.

Fabian Eckert

Co-Founder
Recup

Fabian Eckert cofounded the startup Recup in 2016 with Florian Pachaly. Their mission is to fight unnecessary waste from to-go coffee by implementing a reusable coffee cup (bento) deposit system. Recup is rising in popularity and quickly becoming available in more and more German cities today.
