TUM School of Managment’s Career Speed Dating featured in Süddeutsche Zeitung

Career speed dating is increasing its popularity. One reason for this is the informal structure of the short interviews that allow a much more relaxed atmosphere compared to traditional job interviews. The applicants and companies are given up to ten minutes to get to know each other and decide whether their expectations match or not. If both sides appear to be interested they can arrange further steps like an official interview. There is no guarantee that the career speed dating results in a job offer, nevertheless it provides candidates with the opportunity of meeting representatives of many companies in a short amount of time and enhances their chances by talking to them personally.

TUM School of Management’s Corporate Partnerships & Career department offers a career speed dating for the top five percent of their students. The event brings together 20 select students and 20 companies, such as Thyssenkrupp, KPMG, Boston Consulting, Infineon, Danone or Microsoft. The CVs of the applicants are given to the companies in advance. This allows more specific questions on the candidates.

One member of TUM Management Alumni e.V., Christiane Durner, got to know her current employer by participating in one of the career speed datings organized by TUM School of Management. After completing her Master in Management and Technology at TUM School of Management, she will start her Traineeship at Infineon.
