TUM School of Management Graduate pursues MBA in Stanford

Andrej Safundzic, a graduate of TUM School of Management will start an MBA and Master of Computer Science in Stanford next year, after successfully completing his Bachelor in Management & Technology at TUM.

His goal has always been to use technology for the common good. In his first two years at university, he founded two technology-oriented social organizations, EduGlobe and StartHub Africa, in Uganda. After a year abroad at Harvard, he also founded Tech4Germany and continues to lead the initiative until the end of the year. Tech4Germany is the young digital team of the federal government under the patronage of the head of the Federal Chancellery and Federal Minister Prof. Dr. Helge Braun. This summer he will lead a team of 25 IT talents who will make Germany fit for digitalization. For example, they will develop the first cloud-based e-learning portal for the federal administration.

In his qualitative bachelor thesis “How Technology Task Forces can drive Digital Transformation within Governments” at the Entrepreneurship Research Institute (ERI), he investigated whether the German government could act like a start-up.

He mentions: “I am really, really grateful to TUM and ERI. Without the wide range of entrepreneurship initiatives on offer, I would never have thought of becoming an entrepreneur in an unusual field.”
At Stanford, Andrej wants to explore how technology can disruptively change the public sector.
