The TUM Business Club announced two prominent guests for TUM Speakers Series as side event to the Munich Security Conference. On February 15, 2018, the former Secretary-General of the United Nations and Nobel Peace Prize laureate Kofi Annan will speak in the Audimax at the main campus of the Technical University of Munich (TUM). Moreover, on February 16, 2018, Eric Schmidt, who was CEO and Executive Chairman at Google and Alphabet Inc., will give a speech on the topic “OK, Google – what’s the future?”. Kofi Annan, a laureate of the Nobel Peace Prize, served as the Secretary-General of the United Nations from 1997 to 2006. Eric Schmidt is Technical Advisor to Alphabet Inc., where he advises its leaders on technology, business and policy issues. Schmidt joined Google in 2001 and helped grow the company from a Silicon Valley startup to a global leader in technology. He served as Google’s Chief Executive Officer from 2001-2011, and as chairman from 2011-2017. His philanthropic efforts through The Schmidt Family Foundation focus on climate change, including support of ocean and marine life studies at sea, as well as education, specifically cutting-edge research and technology in the natural sciences and engineering.
