TUM Start-up Feierabend Insights: StudySmarter
TUM Management Alumni e.V. has announced the next featured company in their TUM Start-up Feierabend Insights event series. StudySmarter will be hosting this month’s event on December 13 in their offices in the Gabelsbergerstraße.
StudySmarter was founded in 2017 by four alumni of the Technical University of Munich (TUM) and the Center for Digital Technology and Management (CDTM): Christian Felgenhauer (CDTM – Technology Management), Maurice Khudhir (TUM – Master in Management & Technology), Simon Hohentanner (TUM – Master Mechanical Engineering), Till Söhlemann (TUM – Master Computer Science).
The four founders saw the potential of digital technology to help students study more efficiently and ensure that fewer students dropped out before finishing their degrees. The StudySmarter platform that they built combines multiple tools for individual and collaborative studying processes in one place, and allows planning and tracking of a structured individual study plan.
Since 2017, the company has received numerous awards, including the 2018 European Youth Award for Smart Learning, the 2018 Telekom EdTec Startup Award, and a spot in the World Finals of the 2018 Microsoft Imagine Cup.
The Feierabend Insights events are intended to provide students and alumni of the TUM School of Management an opportunity to network in a less-formal atmosphere. At this month’s event, the StudySmarter founders will be speaking about further opportunities to digitalize education and challenges in scaling up a new company. The event will be free, and begins at 6 pm on Thursday, December 13.
