TUM students successful at the QTEM Data Challenge
Great success for two students from the TUM School of Management at the QTEM Data Challenge (QDC): José Pastor Prado and his team won the challenge, Qian Wan and her team were third. The QDC is an international and practical experience for our students of the Joint International Programm QTEM (Quantitative Techniques for Economics and Management).
QTEM is an international network. Students take part in this program developing skills in analytic and quantitative techniques to support decision-making in an international context. TUM School of Management has entered the network in 2016. Since 2019 we also have a QTEM student association at TUM SoM, that organizes social and career events in cooperation with the International Office and the Alumni Verein.
Every year, one of the partner universities within the QTEM network organizes the Annual Event. This year the University of Amsterdam – Business & Economics was the host. During this two-day-event, all QTEM Deans, International Office Coordinators, students, alumni and corperate partners got together. During meetings and workshops, experiences were shared and discussed to lift up the program and network to a next level.
For the Data Challenge they were teamed up in team of 3 students, each from another university and nationality and they worked virtually together to solve the challenge which is a real case from one of the corperate partners. TUM was the only university with two students in the finals.
